Babysitter Cookies

I had a scrape of peanut butter, a handful of chocolate chips, and a few frosted flakes left. And our cookie tin is empty. It's a perfect occasion to try out this recipe from Gayle:

Babysitter Cookies
Melt together the butter and shortening.
Add sugars and cream thoroughly.
Add eggs, vanilla, baking powder, baking soda, flour, oatmeal, cereal (corn flakes, grape nuts, cocoa puffs -- whatever you have) and mix well.
Stir in any or all of the optional ingredients.
Drop by rounded tablespoons onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes.

I've got a pan of these cooling right now and my house smells so good. I froze half the dough for later too so we can't indulge too much. Thanks Gayle!
