Biting the Bullet on Babysitting.

I am often jealous of couples who live near a set or both or their parents and have nearby, reliable and free babysitting.

I bit the bullet and asked someone to babysit in our home so we could have a date. It's scary to leave our kids with someone else and it's going to cost more than our dinner probably but right now- it seems so worth it.

Update: We had a blast. The kids got to stay up a little later and eat things like Pillsbury cookies (on sale/coupon) and frozen pizza. Hubby and I got some valuable alone time. And now we know we have a reliable sitter that the kids like.

We are in your situation, too, so have decided it is an investment in our marriage to go out once a month, or at least budget to go out once a month. Home dates just are not the same.

That was a good decision and one worth it. We have parents an hour away so I've yet had to 'hire' a babysitter, so I know we're lucky on that front.

Enjoy that date!

We haven't yet done this either. But I want to... maybe. Or not. ;)

Good for you!

We need to have dates more. We're fortunate to have my parents close by, but they're so busy that I hate to ask them to watch the kids all the time.

I hope you have a great date!
