A small journey towards a more frugal and clutter free existence-- while dragging my husband and children along with me.

Holiday Joys
Last night we put up the tree. It's sort of a cheap thing from the days before pre-lit. I bought it at a neighbors garage sale for .50 four years ago when we finally moved from our first 800 sq. foot house to our second 1800 sq. foot house and could put up a regular sized tree. It sheds (hence the vacuum). With help (erm) from our preschooler and toddler the tree this year truly is a sight. All of the garland. Three strands of lights.. mostly working- and one plays tinny carols . The bottom of the tree is sparse in spots because Big Girl likes to put ornaments together so they won't be lonely.
So much for elegance. At least we have glitter.
The kids were tuckered out before we done and slept like rocks. This is what we found this morning after we sent Big Girl to entertain her baby brother in his room.
And now we're snuggled up on the couch in our jammies... bellies full of sweet bread, eggs, veggie sausage, oj/cocoa, and fresh fruit. Big Girl insisted on watching Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer movie.. which I have to admit is one of my favorites too.
I love this Christmassy time of year. Ok, back to snuggling.
